Homily for the Second Sunday after Easter
“Blessed are they who have not seen but yet believe”. Today’s Gospel could be called the Ninth Beatitude.
Sister Anne Morris references Robert Browning’s poem: A Death in the Desert. How can the Church preach Jesus when people do not have an experience of Jesus? We are linked by the great chain of faith. You may think the chain gets weaker but the Spirit that Jesus leave us is a present and living reality. We can each of us have a living relationship with the Lord as if we, too, were present in the Upper Room.
